Burgas: First snow

Posted by oberonbg on December 12, 2009

After a very mild fall, with temperatures in November staying  near 20C (68F) for many days, we have had our first snow today. It’s really wet snow and it’s sticking to the ground. It’s still too warm, and I expect the snow will be gone by tomorrow morning. Isn’t it funny how one can describe temperatures near freezing as “too warm?”

Next Saturday the temperatures are expected to reach a high of -7C (20F) and a low of -15C (5F).

Here’s a picture:

Wow, your snow was beautiful. Did it last?

Ours melts and freezes overnight. Ugh!

Hail from the fabulous winter wonderland of Wisconsin! It’s been below zero Farinheit (approximately -18C) every morning here for the last week solid, only over freezing by one degree once in that entire time. Wind chills have been around -5 to -25F (. Your snow looked beautiful, and far less than deadly. ;-) I hope all is well, and Froeliche Weinachten!

Ugh!!! This is TRULY glacial. And people here complain that the winters are cold. I keep telling them that they don’t really know cold. The snow in this picture melted after a day or two, but today we got even better snow. It was fluffy and crunchy under your feet. We got about 2-2.5 inches in a couple of hours, which is something rare for Burgas. Lovely!

Und Froeliche Weinachten to you too. Честита Коледа!
